Boulder is a city of passions – for the outdoors, for
education, and for the makings of one's quality of life. This
"Happiest City in America" (Moneywatch) is located at the foot of
the Rocky Mountains, about 48 km/30 mi northwest of Denver.
More than 100,000 people live in the city, with about 305,000 in the Boulder metropolitan area. Colorado University is Boulder's largest employer, and brings about 30,000 students to the area every academic year.
Key industries are aerospace, biosciences, data storage, natural and organic products, outdoor recreation, renewable energy, software, and tourism.
