Corpus Christi is a bayside south Texas city on the Gulf of Mexico. It is one of the largest ports in the country, along with being the eighth-largest city in Texas. The port primarily serves the oil and agriculture industries.

The area known as North Beach has popular attractions such as the Texas State Aquarium and the USS Lexington. There are smaller islands nearby that are national parks, and a number of species of sea birds make their homes there. The city also holds the Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, which is the largest employer and the largest helicopter repair station in the world.
